Stone lifting in the old practice yard
Published · Updated
Stone lifting gives the practice yard a moment of still concentration. A strongman holds a rough block overhead, his planted feet and extended arms carrying the shape of the effort. Two training partners watch from the side among other stones and low wooden supports.
The overhead press is framed from below so the block, hands and stance remain part of one continuous action. Chalk on the shirt and forearms meets the coarse stone surface, while an apple tree and old brickwork place the session outside a conventional gym. Muted olive and charcoal clothing keep attention on the physical work.
