Street Painting Day with Fuchsia Curves and Lime
Published · Updated
A street painting day covers the dark ground with large fuchsia curves, lime discs and ivory zigzags. Two neighbors work from opposite edges of the geometric asphalt artwork, leaving the center open to the high view. Their long handled rollers follow separate parts of the pattern, with small plain paint trays nearby.
The textured road surface remains visible through slight differences in paint coverage. A curb, drain and strip of pale pavement frame the temporary artwork, while crisp shadows mark the painters and roller poles. Lilac clothing and a cobalt shirt panel sit among the larger blocks of color. The composition gives the painted shapes room to lead, with the people helping show their scale.
