A bearded giant crouches beside an oak tree house in an autumn wood. His moss-green knitted jumper blends with the muted woodland colours, while his large face turns toward the round window. Four boys look out from the warm interior, their faces gathered close together in the opening.

The boys wear checked shirts and wool clothing, and a torch is visible among them. A rope ladder hangs from the wooden structure, whose shingled roof rises above the window. Small bulbs run along the railing and cast separate points of warm light against the surrounding trees.

The low view from the forest floor brings the giant and the children into the same encounter. Beard, knitted fabric and timber stand out against the dim woodland. Cool blue dusk fills the trees beyond, while the bright window and uneven string lights keep attention on the curious faces.
