The Indigo Sun in the Courtyard
Published · Updated
A vast indigo disc stands upright in a quiet brick courtyard. Its curved face draws inward toward a small oval opening, while a ring of triangular points traces the outer edge. The side view reveals the depth of the bowl and the thickness of its dark rim. A low steel support holds the sculpture firmly above the paving, with fallen leaves gathered along its base.
The blue surface is matte and finely textured. Sunlight reaches the left edge and portions of the rim, while the deepest part of the curve settles into dark indigo. A small patch of brick is visible through the opening. Behind the sculpture, red and copper vine leaves spread across a weathered wall, setting warm autumn colour against the saturated blue.
Stone paving, a plain bench and a narrow view of pale sky complete the scene. The circular sculpture nearly fills the height of the photograph, yet its setting remains clear. Soft shadows across the paving and small variations in the brickwork keep the bold geometric form grounded in a tangible outdoor space.
