The Vineyard Hall with a Folded Wave Roof
Published · Updated
A long cedar hall stretches across the edge of a vineyard, its silver roof rising and falling in a sequence of broad waves. Narrow metal folds make a bright, finely stepped edge above the warm vertical boards. The highest curve frames a tall glazed entrance, while smaller waves carry the rhythm along the two wings. Morning light picks out the changing planes of metal and leaves the recessed openings dark enough to reveal their depth.
Rows of grapevines cross the foreground, with green and golden leaves growing around weathered posts. Along their right edge, a wet stone lane leads toward the building. Low walls and a few small trees give the hall a grounded setting without obscuring its unusual outline. Beyond the roof, soft ribbons of mist drift across dry wooded hills beneath a pale blue sky. The scene balances a striking architectural shape with the irregular textures of leaves, stone and earth, leaving the whole empty building easy to explore within the landscape.
