A geyser sends its plume into the morning sky
Published · Updated
A geyser sends a tall white plume into the morning sky above a pale mineral basin. The dense water jet rises from a low vent and breaks into bright spray near the top. Drifting steam spreads to one side, catching warm peach light against the cooler blue sky.
Wet runoff crosses the rough ground in shallow channels, reflecting small patches of the bright plume. Low brown hills sit beyond the basin and give the eruption a clear scale within the open landscape. Fine droplets remain visible beside the heavier column, while the broad vapor cloud softens toward its outer edges. The low wide view connects the forceful vertical movement to the textured ground beneath it.
