A glasswing butterfly rests on the lantana
Published · Updated
A glasswing butterfly rests on orange and yellow lantana in the warm garden light. Clear wing panels reveal soft colors from the flowers and foliage behind, crossed by fine dark veins. Chestnut edges surround the transparent areas, with a pale band near the darker forewing tip.
The slender body hangs below the upright wings, and delicate legs touch the clustered flowers. Two thin antennae curve forward while a fine proboscis approaches a yellow bloom. Green leaves with small water drops fill the lower frame, and the background opens into softly lit foliage. The close side view keeps the membrane texture and wing attachments clear without losing the butterfly's connection to its flowering perch.
