A goat has claimed the front of a purple yoga mat, leaving its human companion a small place to sit behind it. The woman rests one hand gently on its back and laughs at the interruption. Her lilac top and dark leggings keep the relaxed exercise outfit simple beside the animal’s soft white-and-gray coat.

The wide farm meadow gives the little encounter an open, sunny setting. A second empty mat waits nearby, and a fence and distant birches form a quiet boundary around the grass. The goat’s folded legs and easy posture suggest that it has found exactly the place it wanted. Clear daylight brings out woolly hair, knitted fabric and the mat’s smooth surface, making the ordinary contact between person and animal the center of the photograph.
