A green-spotted nudibranch crosses the orange sponge
Published · Updated
A green-spotted nudibranch crosses the orange sponge with its soft body close to the folded surface. Bright irregular spots interrupt the dark skin, while two short rolled rhinophores rise at the front. A separate branching gill plume marks the rear, giving the whole animal a clear direction across the frame.
Small pores and uneven ridges cover the ochre sponge beneath it. The low side view keeps the continuous foot and its contact with the substrate visible, while the water behind fades into soft teal. Concentrated underwater light reveals the contrasting textures without flattening their shapes, making the tiny marine subject feel embedded in its surrounding habitat.
