Ammonite display holds the evening light
Published · Updated
An ammonite display catches the evening light across a broad stone spiral. Fine branching patterns repeat around the outer whorl, while the deep central coil creates a darker point within the pale surface. Two visible supports hold it upright above a limestone plinth, letting the rough texture remain the focus.
Tall windows and an unadorned bench give the gallery a quiet architectural frame. A smaller dark spiral sits in a wall niche, offering a second scale without crowding the main object. Sunlight stretches across the floor and worn edges of the stone, leaving space for shadows around the display. The image centres on form and material rather than labels or a claimed specimen history.
