The Cedar Paddle Shelter

Published · Updated

Small cedar paddles form the walls and roof of an open shelter on a stone terrace. Each rounded wooden piece sits between dark metal ribs, leaving slender gaps that admit the morning light. The repeated rows bend over a continuous curved bench, creating a protected place to sit while keeping the valley view open. Metal feet and the low stone base give the light, patterned structure a clear connection to the ground.

A short path approaches through moss, low shrubs and scattered yellow leaves. Beyond the shelter, golden larches cover the slopes, with pale bands of mist lying between the trees. Rocky peaks rise above the haze under a soft blue sky. Sunlight catches the cedar grain and the edges of the stone paving, while the underside of the canopy remains gently shaded. The complete shelter is visible against the landscape, so its construction can be understood at a glance.
