A red dachshund sits upright on a porch step wearing a rounded orange pumpkin costume. Green felt leaves lie around the collar, and a small curled stalk rises from the soft hood. The dog looks straight ahead with its long ears hanging freely at either side. Fine fur, a dark nose and the stitched fabric give the close view a mix of natural and handmade textures.

Real pumpkins surround the dog on the steps, with orange and burgundy chrysanthemums in pots farther back. A wreath of dried leaves hangs on the dark front door, and more leaves gather across the stone. Warm afternoon light falls over the costume and the pumpkins while branches cast broken shadows against the house. The low viewpoint places the little dog at the center of a cheerful autumn porch display.
