Large woven dining booths hang from visible metal supports around an autumn tree, seen from a nearby booth set with tea and sliced pear.

Dining Baskets among the Autumn Branches

Published · Updated

A curved wicker rim surrounds the nearest table, where two pottery cups, sliced pear and a rust-coloured napkin wait beside deep green cushions. Beyond it, more dining baskets hang among autumn branches. Their rounded forms repeat at different distances around a thick trunk, while a narrow timber gallery links the seating areas. Steel rings beneath the floors and visible suspension fittings give the woven rooms a substantial, practical structure.

The viewpoint places the viewer inside one of the booths. The close weave and soft upholstery lead toward another complete table setting across the gap, then onward to the shaded gallery. Copper leaves catch the afternoon sun above, and the grove floor appears far below through small openings. The arrangement turns a meal into a chance to sit within the tree canopy without losing the comfort of an ordinary table and bench. Warm wicker, dark green linen and simple ceramics keep the design connected to its surroundings. Uneven light makes the nearest seat feel sheltered while drawing attention to the suspended room beyond it.
