Floating garden beds form green ribbons on the lake

Published · Updated

Floating garden beds form long green ribbons across the dark surface of a lake. Dense leafy crops fill the narrow strips, with brown fibrous edges visible where the planted layers meet the water. Different shades of green distinguish adjoining beds within their loosely organized blocks.

Wider channels separate the groups and turn between their gently uneven edges. A small wooden canoe beside a stake provides scale near one bend, while a few leaves and faint ripples break the open water. Seen straight from above, the cultivated surface becomes a clear arrangement of growth and passageways, with natural variation retained inside the larger geometric layout.
