Giant Steel Spring on Rainy Garden Steps
Published · Updated
A giant steel spring forms a bright arch across two wet garden steps. One compressed end rests on the higher tread while the other reaches the lower stone, leaving the middle loops stretched into a broad curve. Thin reflections of the sky travel along the silver metal coils above the dark, rain-soaked surfaces.
Russet leaves gather beside a shallow puddle and along the uneven step edges. Ivy climbs the old wall behind, and a small opening of pale sky appears above the autumn branches. The close side view makes the familiar toy feel unusually large, with the repeated loops set against coarse stone and scattered soft leaves.
