Glass wind chimes above the rain garden
Published · Updated
Glass wind chimes hang in a loose diagonal beneath dark timber eaves, each small bell carrying a different touch of color. The nearest one has painted red fish and blue curves, while green dots and a soft amber tint appear farther back. Clear droplets catch the light across the rounded surfaces.
Long paper tails descend from the cords and angle gently away from vertical. Their pale matte texture contrasts with the wet glass above, making the separate parts easy to follow. Below, a rain garden fills the background with glossy ferns, stepping stones and deeper patches of shade. The eave provides a dark frame that gives the delicate hanging objects extra definition.
The photograph suggests a slight breeze without needing a dramatic blur. Depth comes from the changing size and sharpness of the three bells, while the greenery supplies a soft continuous backdrop. It makes a restful garden detail for a vertical display, with enough close texture to reward attention and enough open space to preserve the quiet mood.
