A Glove Stretcher Shapes Soft Leather
Published · Updated
A glove stretcher brings a small piece of handwork into close view. One hand steadies an ochre leather glove at its open cuff while the other grips the polished wooden tool. The slim blades enter directly through the open cuff, with the pivot and spring still visible outside the soft leather.
Fine seams follow the glove's separate fingers and thumb, and gentle creases reveal the material's supple weight. A matching glove rests farther back beside a teal lined box, adding a finished shape to compare with the work in progress. Warm side light grazes the leather grain and walnut surface. The close angle keeps the two hands, tool connection and delicate contact clearly readable.
