A Lantern Ghost Walk Through the Old Town
Published · Updated
A guide in a black overcoat and top hat raises one hand toward the upper floors of an old timber-framed building. In the other he holds a brass lantern, its small flame lighting the front of his coat. Two fair-haired girls stand together nearby, holding hands and looking in the direction he points. Several adults watch from behind them.
The narrow alley is enclosed by rough stone and dark timber, with worn steps climbing beside the group. A street lamp adds a second pool of warm light, and cool mist softens the cathedral visible farther down the lane. Reflections break across the uneven cobbles underfoot, while the upper storeys remain mostly in shadow.
The photograph captures an attentive moment during a night tour, with the guide's gesture drawing everyone's gaze upward. Coats and scarves suggest a chilly autumn evening. It suits Halloween travel features, ghost walk invitations and stories about the atmosphere of old streets after dark.
