Metal detecting ends with a small surprise in Dad's open palm. His daughter points toward the little bottle cap, leaning close as they both smile at the modest discovery. Her floral raincoat brings pale blue, pink and cream into the scene, with yellow boots below. A pink detector rests its circular coil on the wet sand beside her.

The father and daughter share their beach discovery beneath a tall timber pier. Barnacle-covered posts repeat into the distance, while surf and a pale cliff remain visible beyond. Dad's burgundy striped sweater and muddy boots suit the breezy outing. Clear hands, the detector's coiled cable and the tiny find keep the story readable within the larger seaside setting.
