Muskoxen huddle against the snowy wind
Published · Updated
Four muskoxen gather close together on snowy tundra beneath a broad cloudy sky. Three stand with their heads visible above the windblown ground, while one rests lower at the right. Their shaggy brown coats carry pale flecks of snow, and pale curved horns frame the dark faces.
The nearest animal faces forward with its muzzle, thick forehead and planted front feet in clear view. Long hair hangs in uneven strands around the legs and shoulders. Thin snow sweeps across the open ground toward low white hills, leaving patches of rock and short vegetation exposed. Cool diffuse light keeps the herd distinct against the wide, quiet winter landscape.
