Night-blooming cereus opens beside a garden door
Published · Updated
Night-blooming cereus opens beside a closed teal garden door, with large white flowers arranged at different heights along flat green stems. Layered inner petals surround pale stamens, while long narrow outer sepals give each bloom a star-like outline. Curved unopened buds remain among the mature leaves.
Cool moonlight catches the nearest flowers and softens along the rough ochre wall behind them. A small shaded lantern adds a warmer edge near the floor, where damp terracotta and fallen petals hold the last points of light. The oblique view lets further blooms recede toward the doorway, giving the intimate planted corner a quiet sense of discovery.
