Ornamental kale colors the snowy garden trough
Published · Updated
Ornamental kale colors the snowy garden trough with broad purple, magenta and cream-centered rosettes. Frilled leaf margins overlap around pale branching veins, while blue-green outer leaves deepen the contrast. A light dusting of snow rests on upper edges without covering the color beneath.
Variegated ivy trails over the near corner, its small leaves carrying melting droplets beside the weathered stone. Damp paving and copper shrubs continue beyond the planter into a softer garden background. The low diagonal view follows the long planting arrangement, bringing together the abundant ruffled growth, thin white snow and dark trough as a detailed moment at the start of winter.
