Pale Tannery Vats in a Weathered Courtyard
Published · Updated
Pale tannery vats fill the courtyard with closely packed rounded and rectangular forms. Cream and gray-green surfaces sit within thick, uneven masonry rims, while empty brown basins interrupt the lighter pattern. The high view makes the broad dividing walls and small changes in shape visible across the working space.
Mineral colored basins sit between weathered workshop walls, dark doorways and a faded coral roof. Pale sheets hang along a far rail, and a plain hose rests on a dry edge. Hard daylight reveals chipped plaster, water stains and rough corners, while a diagonal shadow crosses the nearest vats. The scene draws its rhythm from repeated handmade forms and the quieter differences between their worn surfaces.
