Pancake art turns breakfast into a small collection of edible reptiles. A father lifts a golden lizard pancake from the griddle while his son holds up a white plate with a coiled snake pancake. They look at one another with pleased smiles, comparing the shapes and browned outlines. The boy stands at the cool side of the counter with both hands on his plate.

The turquoise kitchen surrounds them with a sunny window, open shelves and leafy plants. A batter bottle, bowl of blueberries, spare plate and folded tea towel sit within the oak work area. Warm side light makes the cooked pancake edges and green cotton apron easy to read without losing the shared family moment.
