Potato harvest becomes a shared joke when one unusually knobbly potato comes out of the pile. Three children kneel together on the grass, smiling at the discovery while sorting smaller red and yellow potatoes. A wicker harvest basket waits beside them, already holding part of the crop. Their striped, floral and daisy-patterned clothes give each child a distinct place in the group.

The open allotment shed, bean poles and autumn leaves show the ordinary garden behind the moment. Fresh soil clings to the potatoes spread across a coarse burlap sheet, and soft sunlight catches the children's clear expressions. The slightly raised view keeps their hands, the funny find and the growing basket in sight, making the picture feel both busy and affectionate.
