Large suspended black frame with translucent white fabric and pale projected stripes inside a dark brick industrial hall

Light across the Fabric Prism

Published · Updated

A large angular frame hangs in the dark hall, its thin black edges outlining pale fabric faces. Some panels stretch almost flat, while the nearest one gathers into long soft folds. Broad stripes of blue and warm white light cross the cloth, changing direction and intensity as they pass over the pleats. A little of the light reaches the inner surfaces, giving the suspended shape depth without hiding the real seams and frame connections.

Cables rise from the corners toward the old roof beams. Beneath the lowest point, a small gap leaves the heavy structure visibly clear of the concrete floor. The surrounding brick walls remain in shadow, with cool evening light entering through high windows and a closed timber door offering an ordinary sense of scale. Reflections on the worn floor repeat a few of the pale colors above. The contrast between rigid frame and soft textile gives the piece its quiet drama.
