Seedpod lanterns fill the woodland path
Published · Updated
Seedpod lanterns stand among the trees beside a winding wet boardwalk. The nearest pod opens along one side, revealing a row of small dark seed shapes and a warm bulb within. Fine timber ribs divide its long paper shell into narrow panels. More pods rise at uneven heights farther down the path, each with a slightly different tilt.
The paper shells show fibers, veins and gentle wrinkles where the light passes through them. Dark stems and square footings connect the sculptures to the woodland floor. Their built structure remains visible, while the elongated shapes echo leaves and seed cases. Ferns gather around the bases, mixing small natural fronds with the much larger sculptural forms.
Amber reflections break across the wet boardwalk and fade as the path bends into the distance. Cool blue sky filters between tall trunks above the installation. Moss softens the bark, and the far trees dissolve into faint evening haze. The scene stays empty, allowing the repeated lights, quiet materials and curving route to establish its sense of scale.
