Sequoia trunks rise above the quiet forest floor
Published · Updated
Sequoia trunks rise above the quiet forest floor in broad red columns. The nearest tree has deeply furrowed red bark and a flared base that opens into spreading roots. Two more immense trunks stand farther back among smaller green trees, carrying their branches high above the ground.
Ferns, fallen cones and dry needles cover the spaces between the roots. Shafts of warm sunlight pass through the canopy and draw bright edges along the rough bark, while the lower plants remain partly in shade. The low upward view preserves a clear connection between the giant bases and the distant crowns, making the grove feel tall, layered and firmly rooted in its woodland setting.
