Sun circle hopping under the orange canopy
Published · Updated
Sun circle hopping turns the light beneath an orange canopy into a sibling game. A boy holds his little sister's hand as she makes a small hop toward the next bright patch. He watches her with an encouraging smile while their older sister follows behind. Their steps give the regular pattern a lively, changing rhythm.
Harlequin costumes bring diamonds, stripes and gathered collars into the foreground. Navy and mustard distinguish the boy's tunic, coral warms the younger girl's dress, and teal and lilac cross her sister's outfit. Gathered hems and flat shoes follow the motion of their small steps. Their different poses and expressions make the connection feel spontaneous.
Above them, round orange and yellow discs sit within a broad steel lattice. Sunlight passes through the circular openings and falls across the terracotta surface. Curved supports rise from low violet hills, with small tunnels and pale turquoise edges extending the landscape behind. The distant marina and stone arcade leave the play area connected to the city, while the enormous canopy turns a few simple hops into an experience of the whole place.
