Tea passes around the circular gallery
Published · Updated
A circular gallery surrounds the open courtyard beyond two adults sharing tea at a small wooden table. The man passes a ceramic cup toward the woman, who turns her attention to receive it. Their hands meet at the cup while their seated postures remain relaxed. A small teapot and another cup rest on a plain tray between them.
The woman's yellow-and-white gingham dress has short sleeves, a gathered skirt, and a white waist tie. Its light pattern contrasts with the man's pale-blue shirt and the darker timber around the table. Warm sunlight catches their hair and the cup, while the roof above leaves the nearest beams in shade.
Across the courtyard, several levels of curving wooden galleries repeat beneath gray tiled roofs. Ochre walls, doors, railings, and a few hanging household details give the building depth. The close table and chairs remain visibly part of that larger setting. The photograph follows a small shared gesture, with the circular architecture opening behind it and keeping the moment connected to its surroundings.
