Wooden Forms Swirl across a Curved Wall
Published · Updated
Small carved wooden forms sweep across a tall curved wall in two linked swirls. Each piece has a pointed, leaflike outline, a raised centre and a different natural tone. Pale honey, warm brown and nearly black timber alternate through the pattern. Seen together, the separate pieces suggest a current moving across the white surface, narrowing where the two broad loops meet.
The nearest forms reveal their grain and slight variations in shape. Fine supports hold them away from the wall, allowing each one to cast its own small shadow. Those shadows give the installation depth without turning it into a solid relief. Farther around the room, the same pieces become smaller with distance and gather into a denser rhythm.
Soft daylight enters through a high curved opening. A pale stone floor and two low dark benches keep the room simple, giving space to the movement on the wall. The photograph is free to use, including for commercial projects.
