Large open bamboo lattice cubes suspended beneath timber beams in a sunlit stone gallery with tall arched windows

Bamboo Clouds in the Quiet Gallery

Published · Updated

Open cubes of bamboo hang beneath the dark timber roof of a tall stone gallery. Slender rods meet at regular right angles, building large volumes through which the room remains visible. The nearest cube feels almost weightless despite its scale, while smaller blocks overlap behind it. A narrow column of lattice descends to a dark plinth, adding a vertical line to the suspended arrangement. Thin support wires disappear upward toward the beams.

Daylight enters through a row of tall arched windows and passes through the bamboo, drawing a dense grid of shadows across the pale floor. Small bindings at the intersections, natural nodes and slight changes in the rods' color keep the geometry tactile. The old stone walls provide a quiet, solid background for the delicate structure, with autumn branches just visible beyond the glass. No visitors interrupt the clear view through its layers.
