The Glass Cabin against the Cliff
Published · Updated
A clear cabin projects from the cliff, placing a small furnished room beside an immense mountain view. Silver-grey ribs divide its glazing into broad facets, while a dark steel cradle supports the floor. Large diagonal brackets meet the rock below, making the connection between the room and the cliff visible from the outside.
A guarded metal walkway follows the stone face to a side entrance. Beyond the glass, two pale reading chairs sit around a low wooden table, and a bed with ivory linen and an olive throw occupies the quieter end. Curtains gather beside the frames, softening the room without closing away the landscape. These familiar domestic details make the cabin’s position feel especially remarkable.
The rough cliff continues above and below the structure, with small plants rooted in its cracks. Far beneath it, a river winds between green fields, wooded slopes and distant settlements. Mountain ridges overlap toward snowy peaks under a clear morning sky. Directional sunlight catches the glass and stone while the supports remain shaded. This imagined retreat combines a compact room with an expansive setting. The photograph is free to reuse for personal and commercial projects.
