The Segmented Ivory Vault Lounge
Published · Updated
Ivory stone ribs span this long lounge in a repeated sequence of curved segments. Rounded joints interrupt their smooth lines, giving the roof structure a sculptural character that continues into the furniture below. The pale stone is porous and softly marked, standing out against dark walls and ceiling surfaces. Warm lights skim the arches from beneath, while narrow high windows introduce cool winter daylight and glimpses of bare branches. A larger window at the far end reveals snow-covered trees.
Tall chairs combine curved pale wooden frames with dark leather cushions, arranged in small groups around broad bronze tables. Their organic outlines echo the roof without repeating it exactly. A dark stone counter follows the right wall, holding clear glass vessels and a vase of fine branches. Low candles and a small hearth add points of warmth along the room. The floor carries the same dark mineral tones as the walls, grounding the pale arches overhead. The photograph brings together an unusual structural rhythm, tactile stone and quiet winter light in a complete, comfortably furnished interior.
