The Tower Clad in Sunflower Tiles

Published · Updated

Yellow sunflower reliefs repeat across the curved wall of this remarkable tower. Each flower sits among glazed green squares, turning the entire exterior into a bright botanical pattern. Arched windows interrupt the tilework at different heights, while curved balconies project from substantial brick supports. Their dark iron railings carry leaf shapes that echo the ceramic decoration. At the base, rough stonework meets a wet paved terrace with large terracotta pots and small citrus trees.

Warm sunlight gives the raised petals clear edges and draws out the variations in the green glaze. The brick corbels cast short shadows beneath the balconies, making their support easy to read. Autumn leaves frame one side of the tower, and a distant wooded ridge brings depth to the open edge of the terrace. The empty setting keeps the image centered on materials and craftsmanship.
