The Wooden Sphere Suspended Among Cedars
Published · Updated
A round timber retreat hangs between tall cedar trunks, its curved shell assembled from narrow wooden strips. A large circular window reflects the canopy and reveals a warm light inside, while a smaller porthole sits along the side. Taut cables run from the sphere toward broad dark bands around the trees. Their visible attachments make the unusual suspended room feel connected to the forest that surrounds it.
A winding wooden stair climbs around the nearest trunk to a small landing. From there, a narrow bridge with rope rails reaches the open doorway of the sphere. Rain has darkened the steps and the path below, where exposed roots, moss and ferns fill the lower part of the scene. Soft daylight passes through green and yellow leaves, leaving gentle highlights across the timber shell. The full route from the muddy path to the hanging room is visible, giving the quiet retreat both a sense of height and an inviting human scale without any figures in the frame.
