A window cleaner waves through the glass while an older resident returns the greeting from inside her apartment. He holds a rubber squeegee in his other hand, with a broad freshly cleared patch surrounded by small traces of soap. His navy workwear and fitted harness stand out against the bright morning sky.

The platform's metal guardrail, suspended cables and solid lower panel remain visible beneath him. Farther below, rooftops and green trees give the exchange an unusual sense of height. The resident's lavender cardigan introduces a softer texture on the near side of the pane. Their smiles turn a routine cleaning task into a brief moment of connection across the otherwise separating window.
