Zipper Flowerbed Unfolding through the Courtyard
Published · Updated
A zipper flowerbed opens through the courtyard as if the paving could be unfastened. A broad bronze pull rises in the foreground, with rows of metal teeth separating around dense flowers and grasses. Bolts along the border and worn stone beneath it give the playful garden sculpture weight and a physical setting.
Purple asters, orange blooms and burgundy leaves fill the widening space. Behind the autumn planting, a simple wooden bench rests against a red-brick wall under trailing ivy. The low viewpoint makes the zipper feel unusually large while retaining the full garden context, with scattered leaves and damp paving catching the warm light around its edges.
