A coastal blowhole throws spray into the sun
Published · Updated
A coastal blowhole throws an irregular plume of white water above a rough rock shelf. The burst breaks into fine droplets as it rises, with a faint rainbow appearing along one sunlit edge of the spray. A small dark opening connects the moving water to the pitted limestone below.
Shallow hollows, wet rock and a few strands of seaweed give the near ground a textured surface. Beyond the plume, teal surf rolls along the shelf toward a wider blue-gray sea. The elevated diagonal view keeps both the source of the burst and the surrounding coast visible, showing a brief forceful movement within the larger rhythm of the waves.
