A stone egg reflects in the tidal pool
Published · Updated
A stone egg stands on a flat rock within a shallow tidal pool, its rounded shape built from irregular fitted blocks. Rough gray faces and narrow horizontal joints give the sculpture a weighty surface. The wider lower body narrows toward a rounded cap, keeping the constructed form clear against the open sky.
Water gathers around the broad base and returns a gently broken reflection toward the camera. Small orange seaweed fronds and smooth pebbles remain visible beneath the near surface. A low wave crosses the pool’s rim farther back, with distant sea stacks under pale pink evening light, placing the unusual stone form within a spacious coastal setting.
