A waterspout meets the dark sea

Published · Updated

A waterspout meets the dark sea beneath a heavy cloud deck. Its slender gray funnel curves gently near the upper end and narrows toward a distant spray ring at the water surface. The continuous shape remains visible against the layered storm clouds, with open sea spreading widely around it.

Small waves carry silver highlights toward the wet shore rocks in the foreground. A lighter break near the horizon adds depth behind the funnel without making the scene brightly lit. The distant viewpoint holds both the full cloud connection and the water contact in one frame, setting the unusual weather against the familiar texture of the rocky coast.
