Coffee cherries ripen beneath glossy leaves
Published · Updated
Coffee cherries ripen beneath glossy leaves along a slender diagonal branch. Clusters of crimson fruit gather around the woody nodes, with smaller green berries tucked between them. Rain droplets cling to the smooth skins and follow the curved veins of the broad leaves, catching small points of warm light.
Another fruiting branch crosses the softer background and gives the close view a sense of depth. Dense green foliage fills the spaces between the clusters, with a distant opening toward brighter trees. The near branch stays sharply defined from its rough bark to the round fruit tips, bringing together the garden's fresh moisture, rich color and closely packed growing forms.
