A Crosscut Saw Links Two Woodworkers

Published · Updated

A crosscut saw links two woodworkers across a supported log in a quiet forest clearing. Each person grips one of the wooden end handles, keeping the long toothed blade aligned with a shallow cut. Their balanced stances make the shared push-and-pull movement clear without hiding the tool between their bodies.

Pale sawdust gathers below the log, which rests firmly on low timber cradles. Floral cotton and a rust checked shirt add small colors against the cooler trunks and mossy ground. The wider angle keeps both working figures, the blade and its support in view. Soft morning mist gives the woodland work a calm setting while bark, fresh wood grain and steel remain sharply differentiated in the foreground.
