Crystal Swags Fill the Foyer

Published · Updated

Long strands of clear crystal beads sweep across the ceiling of a lakeside foyer. Their deep hanging curves overlap in layers, forming a transparent canopy that fills the room from side to side. Dark chains and small ceiling fittings hold the highest points, while each lower strand follows its own gentle arc. Sunlight catches scattered facets and leaves the rest of the beads softly transparent.

Below the canopy, green upholstered benches line pale plaster walls between dark wooden doorways. A round stone table stands in the centre, leaving a generous path toward three tall arched windows. Beyond them, quiet water and distant hills sit in cool afternoon light. The limestone floor reflects the windows in broad muted patches, with a few tiny prismatic marks near the foreground. The view preserves the full height of the room, from the worn stone to the ceiling connections above. Repeated strands give the foyer its richness, while the simple furnishings and natural light keep attention on the weight and clarity of the glass.
