Dark acacia branches stand beneath the orange dune
Published · Updated
Dark acacia branches stand beneath the orange dune in a pale dry basin. The nearest tree has a thick weathered trunk, irregular forked limbs and exposed roots resting across cracked clay. Two smaller bare trees stand farther away with different silhouettes, emphasizing the empty space between them.
Low sunlight turns the dune a rich ochre and leaves one steep flank in cool shadow beneath the clear blue sky. Fine wind-shaped lines mark the sand, while the clay foreground breaks into uneven plates. The broad view balances the tree's rough dark surface against the smooth immense dune, with the three rooted forms giving scale to the open desert.
