Ice Feathers Across a Frozen Soap Bubble
Published · Updated
A frozen soap bubble rests on frosty bark, its thin curved wall covered with branching ice feathers. The lower surface is dense with crystalline detail, while the upper part remains more transparent and carries a narrow iridescent rim. Warm sunlight enters from the left, turning the finest branches gold against the cold blue tones of the winter background.
The dark twig gives the fragile sphere a rough, tactile base. Individual frost needles stand along the bark beneath it, echoing the patterns on the bubble at a smaller scale. A snowy slope and distant trees recede softly beyond the focal plane. The close view preserves the contrast between a nearly weightless film and the textured wood supporting it.
