Laced boot house beyond the overgrown gate
Published · Updated
A laced boot house rises beyond a simple gate in an overgrown garden. Ochre walls curve into a broad round toe, while a green lower band suggests the sole. Oversized eyelets and thick rope laces carry the familiar footwear shape into the scale of a small building.
Recessed windows, a doorway and timber steps give the unusual outline ordinary architectural details. Gravel, nettles and flower beds surround the stone base, with mature trees framing the whole structure. Soft daylight reveals worn stucco, weathered rope and reflections in the glass. The three-quarter view keeps the imagined house complete within its setting, allowing its quiet eccentricity to emerge from tangible materials.
