Sawtooth roofs catch the first light
Published · Updated
Sawtooth roofs catch the first light across a long sequence of industrial bays. Broad sloping metal planes meet steep glazed faces, creating a repeated asymmetric profile. Thin dark frames divide the glass, while the corrugated surfaces pick up narrow warm highlights.
Gutters run between the roof sections, tying the separate forms into one continuous building. A little red brick and a plain blue service door appear below, with the empty yard and distant autumn trees adding scale. The elevated diagonal view follows the rhythm of the roofs while keeping their materials distinct, from cool reflective glazing to weathered metal, masonry and the shadows gathered between the bays.
