Stone cones rise above the white courtyard
Published · Updated
Stone cones rise above the white courtyard in three overlapping roof shapes. Flat limestone pieces form tight horizontal layers that narrow toward simple rounded caps. The thick curved walls below carry rough white limewash, with small cobalt shutters adding concentrated color to the pale surfaces.
A plain dark doorway opens beneath a peaked white canopy, and terracotta pots hold herbs beside the worn paving. Morning sunlight grazes the plaster and reveals the uneven edges of the roof stones. From the low courtyard corner, the houses feel close and substantial, their differing heights and curved walls making an intimate architectural space from a small collection of repeated materials.
