Telephone aquarium beside the waterfront arcade
Published · Updated
A telephone aquarium stands beside a waterfront arcade after rain. Its familiar rectangular frame now encloses a tall goldfish tank, with a visible waterline below the blank turquoise canopy. Seven orange and white fish occupy different depths among pale gravel and slender green plants. Tiny bubbles rise beside the dark filter.
The aluminum edges carry small weathered marks and narrow reflections. Clear panels reveal the corner joints and the space between the fish, keeping the enclosure legible from its top to the supported base. Light catches individual fins without overwhelming the softer reflections of the harbor behind them. The dark lower panel gives the transparent upper section a firm visual footing.
Wet paving stretches past the tank toward a long brick arcade. Warm lamps repeat beneath the arches, and their reflections break into golden patches across the uneven ground. A wooden bench faces moored boats and distant wooded hills on the other side. The broad evening view lets the unusual conversion belong to a recognizable public place, with quiet water inside the booth answering the larger harbor beyond.
